Finnair offers a daily 95-minute flight, AY666—a.k.a. Flight #666—straight to HEL. The odd coincidence was noticed a few years ago by the media, and it’s not quite as ominous as it sounds: The entirety of the flight is in Scandinavia, not the underworld, as it departs CPH (Copenhagen) bound for HEL (Helsinki). Earlier this week we searched to see how much a flight to HEL would cost on Friday the 13th. The total was 1,028 Danish Krone, or about US$148. We only looked up the one-way price, because we’re assuming there are no round trips to HEL.

Some studies have indicated that Friday 13th is a relatively cheap day to fly because demand is so low, presumably due to the superstitious not wanting to travel that day. This might be a myth, or at least there should be a caveat because Fridays and Sundays are universally considered the most expensive days of the week to fly. Still, as Donald Dossey, a folklore historian and founder of theStress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, N.C., explained in a National Geographicstory, “It’s been estimated that [U.S.] $800 or $900 million is lost in business on this day because people will not fly or do business they normally would do."

The Number 13 is a karmic number and is the number of upheaval so that new ground can be broken. The number 13 has great power. If this power is used for selfish purposes, it will bring destruction of the self, and in turn, this will bring dis-ease and illnesses. Adapting to change gracefully will bring out the strength of the 13 vibration, and decrease any potential for the negative.

Many people will notice that November 13th, 2015 happens to fall on a Friday and regard it as one of the unluckiest days of the year, but 11/13/15 is also special for another reason:
It is the last day this century where the date will be consecutive odd numbers.
Odd day only comes six times every century, and the next won’t be until 1/3/2105.

In case you're worried you’ll miss the next weird calendar event:
- Square Root Day: 4/4/16 (4×4=16)
- Palindrome Day: 02/11/20
(the same backwards as forwards)
- Digital Mirror Day: 05/05/2020
(the date can be read on a digital clock in a mirror and still be correct)
- Prime Day: 11/13/17 (all prime numbers)

(each number is the sum of the previous two)

Every Friday the 13th, is potentially a big moneymaker for haunted house and other creepy attractions. Entrance can cost a pretty penny too, especially in Texas, which seems to be ground zero for haunted houses. For instance, the Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth charges $25 to $35 plus a $3.50 per-ticket service fee ($5 off for kids!), while the VIP Experience at the Dark Hour Haunted House in Plano runs $65 plus a $4.25 fee. At the lower end, there’s the Zombie Apocalypse for $16.50 in Colorado Springs, or the Scared City Haunted House in Jonesboro

In 1983, a team of deeply pious scientists conducted a radical experiment in an undisclosed facility. The scientists had theorized that a human without access to any senses or ways to perceive stimuli would be able to perceive the presence of God.

They believed that the five senses clouded our awareness of eternity, and without them, a human could actually establish contact with God by thought. An elderly man who claimed to have “nothing to left to live for” was the only test subject to volunteer.

To purge him of all his senses, the scientists performed a complex operation in which every sensory nerve connection to the brain was surgically severed. Although the test subject retained full muscular function, he could not see, hear, taste, smell, or feel. With no possible way to communicate with or even sense the outside world, he was alone with his thoughts.

Scientists monitored him as he spoke aloud about his state of mind in jumbled, slurred sentences that he couldn’t even hear. After four days, the man claimed to be hearing hushed, unintelligible voices in his head. Assuming it was an onset of psychosis, the scientists paid little attention to the man’s concerns.

Two days later, the man cried that he could hear his dead wife speaking with him, and even more, he could communicate back. The scientists were intrigued, but were not convinced until the subject started naming dead relatives of the scientists. He repeated personal information to the scientists that only their dead spouses and parents would have known. At this point, a sizable portion of scientists left the study.

After a week of conversing with the deceased through his thoughts, the subject became distressed, saying the voices were overwhelming. In every waking moment, his consciousness was bombarded by hundreds of voices that refused to leave him alone. He frequently threw himself against the wall, trying to elicit a pain response. He begged the scientists for sedatives, so he could escape the voices by sleeping.

This tactic worked for three days, until he started having severe night terrors. The subject repeatedly said that he could see and hear the deceased in his dreams.

Only a day later, the subject began to scream and claw at his nonfunctional eyes, hoping to sense something in the physical world. The hysterical subject now said the voices of the dead were deafening and hostile, speaking of hell and the end of the world. At one point, he yelled “No heaven, no forgiveness” for five hours straight. He continually begged to be killed, but the scientists were convinced that he was close to establishing contact with God.

After another day, the subject could no longer form coherent sentences. Seemingly mad, he started to bite off chunks of flesh from his arm. The scientists rushed into the test chamber and restrained him to a table so he could not kill himself. After a few hours of being tied down, the subject halted his struggling and screaming. He stared blankly at the ceiling as teardrops silently streaked across his face.

For two weeks, the subject had to be manually rehydrated due to the constant crying. Eventually, he turned his head and, despite his blindness, made focused eye contact with a scientist for the first time in the study. He whispered “I have spoken with God, and he has abandoned us” and his vital signs stopped. There was no apparent cause of death.

In June of 1972, a woman appeared in Cedar Senai hospital in nothing but a white gown covered in blood.
Now this in itself should not be too surprising as people often have accidents nearby and come to the nearest hospital for medical attention. But there were two things that caused people who saw her to vomit and flee in terror.
The first, being that she wasn’t exactly human. she resembled something close to a mannequin, but had the dexterity and fluidity of a normal human being. her face, was as flawless as a mannequins, devoid of eyebrows and smeared in make-up.
She had a kitten clenched in between her teeth, her jaws clamped so unnaturally tightly around it to the point where no teeth could be seen, the blood was still squirting out over her gown and onto the floor. She then pulled it out of her mouth, tossed it aside and collapsed.
From the moment she stepped through the entrance to when she was taken to a hospital room and cleaned up before being prepped for sedation, she was completely calm, expressionless and motionless.
The doctors had thought it best to restrain her until the authorities could arrive and she did not protest.
They were unable to get any kind of response from her and most staff members felt too uncomfortable to look directly at her for more than a few seconds.

But the second the staff tried to sedate her, she fought back with extreme force. Two members of staff holding her down as her body rose up on the bed with that same, blank expression.
She turned her emotionless eyes towards the male doctor and did something unusual. She smiled.
As she did, the female doctor screamed and let go out of shock. In the womans mouth were not human teeth, but long, sharp spikes. Too long for her mouth to close fully without causing any damage…
The male doctor stared back at her for a moment before asking

“What in the hell are you?”

She cracked her neck down to her shoulder to observe him, still smiling.
There was a long pause, the security had been alerted and could be heard coming down the hallway.

As he heard them, she darted forward, sinking her teeth into the front of his throat, ripping out his jugular letting him fall to the floor, gasping for air as he choked on his own blood.
She stood up and leaned over him, her face coming dangerously close to his as the life faded from his eyes.
She leaned closer and whispered in his ear.

“I…am….God….”

The doctors eyes filled with fear as he watched her calmly walk away to greet the security men. His last ever sight would be watching her feast on them one by one.
The female doctor who survived the incident named her

“The Expressionless”

There was never a sighting of her again.

A man obsessed with vampires who said he murdered his best friend because he thought it would make him immortal was jailed for life yesterday.

Judge Roderick MacDonald told 22-year-old Allan Menzies he should serve at least 18 years before being considered for parole. A jury at the High Court, Edinburgh, convicted Menzies, of Fauldhouse, West Lothian, of murdering Thomas McKendrick, 21, also of Fauldhouse. He was also found guilty of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Menzies had denied both counts but did admit culpable homicide on the grounds of diminished responsibility, a plea rejected by the Crown.

During the trial, the court heard that after killing his friend at home last December, Menzies dumped his corpse in a wheelie bin outside his home and later buried him in a shallow grave in nearby woodland.

After the trial, his solicitor, Aamar Anwar, said the case highlighted the social stigma surrounding mental health.

"The continued taboo and the lack of understanding or support of schizophrenia and mental health in our community can only mean tragedies like this are more likely to happen, not less."

The judge branded Menzies an

"evil and dangerous psychopath".

He said:

"Three psychologists have diagnosed you as a psychopath. In my opinion, you are an evil, violent and highly dangerous man who is not fit to be at liberty. You subjected Thomas McKendrick to a savage and merciless attack. You totally lack remorse."

The judge also ordered that Menzies serves three years for attempting to defeat the aims of justice, which will run concurrently with his life sentence.

The court had been told he had become obsessed with the film The Queen Of The Damned, which he had watched more than 100 times in the months before the killing.

Menzies claimed the film's main character, a female vampire called Akasha, used to visit his bedroom and the pair had struck a deal in which he would achieve immortality if he killed people.

The former security guard said he snapped when his friend insulted the vampire, played by the late US singer Aaliyah, battered him over the head and repeatedly stabbed him to death.

Menzies told the court that after he killed Mr McKendrick, he became a vampire and was immortal. He had claimed he was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia when he attacked his best friend.

A report from a psychiatric consultant supported his claims. But three other experts rejected this diagnosis and told the court Menzies was not a schizophrenic but was suffering from an anti-social personality disorder.

He was a "vivid fantasist" but this was not evidence of a mental illness, the doctors said.

Menzies told two police officers who were driving him to his first court appearance he would "get 20 to 25 years". One of them, Detective Constable Robert Lowe, told the court:

"He said, 'How do you think things will go today? I'm going to get 20 to 25 for this, for doing him with a hammer and my Bowie knife. But I got his soul'."

Unexpected Visitor

In 1730, Hungary, there is an account of a strange series of events that were recorded by Count de Cabreras about some of the Counts’ men being stationed in Haidemaque. It was common for soldiers to end up staying in the villagers homes, and one of them was sat with the host of the house one evening, the family and friends there were sat around that night. Another soldier, the man did not know him, came in and everyone seemed nervous about his arrival but no one raised their voice to ask him to leave or cause a scene.

The next morning the soldier awoke and discovered that his host was dead, he asked if the additional and unnerving guest had been anything to do with the situation. The other people in the house then gave him a very curious explanation that the mystery guest was the host’s father and that he had been dead and buried for ten years! The soldier found out they were of the belief that the father had come back for his son. Inevitably this strange tale was relayed to other members of his regiment about the curious events. The Count de Cabreras was then informed of this and intrigued he and his men went with a surgeon in order to investigate the tale. The Count was, at the least, satisfied that the people in the house believe their story to be true.

He took his man, and the surgeon, to the graveyard where they located the father’s grave and removed the body. The boy had not decayed, it’s skin and nails had fallen off and there were signs of them growing back. It also seems that he had the blood of the living inside him, and the Count ordered that they remove the man’s head.

The story goes on to say that they asked the villagers if there were any other vampires and they recounted two others for them. One was a man that had died 30 years prior and had come back for meals to his former house on three occasions. The first was the brother who had died, the second was the son and then the third and last visit was that of a servant. All three had died having fallen prey to the vampire and when the body was exhumed they recorded it was in a similar state to the first, this time the Count ordered they they drive a nail into the corpses head.

Villagers then reported sixteen years ago a man who had then came back to take a snack on his two sons. The body again was exhumed and similar notations about it’s condition were made, with the variety of spice being life, the Count ordered the body to be burnt.

It’s at this point we’re told (via voiceover) that the infection usually takes 5-minutes to take hold (cue introduction to G-Shock branding) and the interactive elements comes thick and fast, as we rapidly help our frantic hero carry out a series of tests to discover if his memory is failing."

A Weird and Mysterious Viral Video that popped up online, possible threat? Hoax? Or what?

On October 12, A tech blogger from Sweden posted about a mysterious video that he received and he wrote that he was making it public to "reach out" to his readers "to try and help decode this."

People responded like crazy, because once you watch this incredibly creepy video, it's hard to avoid the impulse to dig into it. It is apparently a layered and deeply complicated puzzle.

Given the carefully constructed nature of the video, it's hard to believe it is anything but a conscious effort to promote something — a movie, show, or video game. It was, after all, sent to a tech blogger. But it also could be an elaborate warning, as it appears to contain specific threats against the U.S. and the White House. Bloggers and sites like reddit, the Daily Dot, Blumhouse, and others have been busily peeling it apart, and here are a few things they've found.

The video was made in an abandoned insane asylum in Poland.
One Redditor determined the location for the video shoot was "Zofiówka, a defunct psychiatric hospital in Otwock, Poland," and posted a photo that clearly showed the exact same setting, in color.Zofiówkahas a dark history. It was devoted to caring for Jewish psychiatric patients and during the Nazi occupation of Poland it was the scene of some horrific tragedies. If we really want to get into the deep conspiracy weeds with this crazy video, it's worth noting the video is sometimes referred to by a code that GadgetZZ blogger Johny K. noted on the DVD's menu, "11B-X-1371." In 1371 the Black Death—Plague—was rampant throughout Europe. Jews were sometimes blamed for the disease, and Poland was mostly spared. An additional hint that the video is referring to some kind of plague: the person in the video is dressed like an old Plague Doctor.

(D.Y.K: The long nose on the mask was used to put different medicinal herbs and things in that they believed inhaling would help them not be as susceptible to catching the plague.)

One of the video's "translators" said:
~ Regardless of the meaning of this conspicuous video, its hidden messages are worthy of examination, and reminder that technology is capable of bypassing our primary senses (as demonstrated by placing graphics in audio)
The creepy footage features a figure in a medieval-style plague doctor mask and black robe who stands silently as strange noises play in the background.

It contains numerous cryptic messages which appear to reveal a sinister threat while even the name itself – posted in binary code and translated from Spanish – means 'Death'.
Underneath the binary title is another encrypted message which reads as a warning: 'You have one year or less.'
Along with the coordinates of the White House, were coded messages telling viewers to 'Kill the President.'
There are also references to biological attacks, viruses and images of death which appear for a single frame, or part of a single frame, as well as what some claim are expressions in Morse code.
(Allegedly) At one point, a flashlight pulsed by the person dressed in a plague doctor costume, spells out
'RED LIPSLIKE TENTH,'
an anagram for 'kill the president.'
Is someone trying to trigger a killer who may or may not have been programmed to carry out an assassination? Again, no one can be sure of well, really anything about the video… but it certainly is disturbing. ~

The video contains the actual coordinates of the white house along with a threat.

And there's a frame that flashes by almost too fast to notice if you're not paying attention that actually holds the White House's longitude and latitude: 38.897709, -77.036543. Redditors also isolated what looked like random characters to come up with another potentially chilling statement:
"Strike an arrow through the heart of the eagle"

The video was first posted in May 2015.

The Daily Dot reported the handle of a Youtube user who was the first known uploader of the video. They contacted him and he claimed

"a girl he knows found the disk in a park outside Spain on a bench, and then sent him the file online."

When asked if he sent the video to the blogger in Sweden, he denied it and implied the tech blog wasn't being truthful about how they received it, reportedly saying:

"Anyone can fake a DVD."

The Plague imagery may be explained by one of the codes.

Another secret message found and isolated on frame and eventually others decoded the message in it, which allegedly reads:

"Soon comes the fall. Another great empire.
The fall.
The eagle = on the horizon.
The eagle = infected will spread his disease.
We are the antivirus for the world body."

Creepy shit right?

If it is a promo for something, no one can figure out what.

Some of the avid Redditors dissecting the video have said it might have been created to go viral and eventually tie in to some kind of production, like for example, a film that's based on Dan Brown's novel 'Inferno',

"In the book, a death-obsessed genius, while wearing a dark hooded outfit similar to the man in the clip, preaches the benefits of creating a new plague to reduce the human population. The movie is slated to arrive next year."

"The video's title and description is coded in binary (001110) and translates into Spanish. The title reads "Muerte" (Death), and the description reads "Te queda 1 año menos," (You have one year left, or less.)"

Another person added:
~ The figure makes only a few hand gestures, one of which reveals a small round crystal in the palm of the right hand, flashing on and off in sequence. But it’s the subliminal and hidden messages in this video that have people mystified and creeped out.

If you watch carefully, you will notice some flickering images and shapes scattered throughout the clip, and of course there’s that distorted digital noise on the soundtrack. None of these are random; every flash-frame and blast of static contains a message, and ever since the Swedish blogger posted it to his site, claiming that he’d received the video via mail from somewhere in Poland, the web has been buzzing with attempts to solve the puzzle embedded within it.

The most disturbing elements seem to be buried in the sound design: when one Reddit user ran the audio frequencies through Sound Visualizer spectrogram software, they unlocked images of torture and murder, along with the words
“YOU ARE ALREADY DEAD.” ~

Allegedly a room from the video inside the abandoned Zofiówka Sanitarium, if you look close, between the two windows on the right you can see the 'graffiti' that's behind the person in the video.

It's so carefully tweaked that whoever created it even embedded graphic images, including crime scene photo of a victim of the Boston Strangler, that only show up when viewed with a spectrograph. I mean wtf, that's an insanely intricate approach to making two minutes of weirdness.
This is a recent "web mystery" and, as far as I know, still not 100% solved. So if you have any f*cking clue please feel free to comment.

"Another disturbing revelation was made by social media users who have posted pictures from what they claim is analysis from a spectrogram – an instrument which gives a visual representation of sound – which appears to show a tied-up woman being tortured, according to Reddit users.

Another … creates a picture of a human skull.
Why this was done remains up for debate… perhaps we will never know."

In my opinion, I don’t think a production company that wanted to promote a movie would hide a 2 min. video in some park in Spain or send it to some random tech blogger in Sweden. I also don't think they would use real homicide crime-scene photos to promote something. On the other hand I don’t think it's a legitimate threat to the white house either or it would be a bigger deal, nevertheless it's weird and #WeirdIsGood

Lon Chaney Jr. ~ February 10th 1906 - 73

American character actor whose career was influenced (and often overshadowed) by that of his father, silent film star Lon Chaney. The younger Chaney was born while his parents were on a theatrical tour, and he joined them onstage for the first time at the age of six months. However, as a young man, even during the time of his father's growing fame, Creighton Chaney worked menial jobs to support himself without calling upon his father. He was at various times a plumber, a meatcutter's apprentice, a metal worker, and a farm worker. Always, however, there was the desire to follow in his father's footsteps. He studied makeup at his father's side, learning many of the techniques that had made his father famous. And he took stage roles in stock companies. It was not until after his father's death in 1930 that Chaney went to work in films. His first appearances were under his real name (he had been named for his mother, singer Frances Chaney). He played number of supporting parts before a producer in 1935 insisted on changing his name to Lon Chaney Jr. as a marketing ploy. Chaney was uncomfortable with the ploy and always hated the "Jr". addendum. But he was also aware that the famous name could help his career, and so he kept it. Most of the parts he played were unmemorable, often bits, until 1939 when he was given the role of the simple-minded Lennie in the film adaptation of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men (1939). Chaney's performance was spectacularly touching; indeed, it became one of the two roles for which he would always be best remembered. The other came within the next year, when Universal, in hopes of reviving their horror film franchise as well as memories of their great silent star, Chaney Sr., cast Chaney as the tortured Lawrence Talbot in The Wolf Man (1941). With this film and the slew of horror films that followed it, Chaney achieved a kind of stardom, though he was never able to achieve his goal of surpassing his father. By the 1950s, he was established as a star in low-budget horror films and as a reliable character actor in more prestigious, big-budget films such as High Noon (1952). Never as versatile as his father, he fell more and more into cheap and mundane productions which traded primarily on his name and those of other fading horror stars. His later years were bedeviled by illness and problems with alcohol. When he died from a variety of causes in 1973, it was as an actor who had spent his life chasing the fame of his father, but who was much beloved by a generation of filmgoers who had never seen his father.

The House of Dracula

Dracula arrives at Dr. Edelman's office asking for a cure to his vampirism. However, this is a ruse by Dracula to get near Dr. Edelman's beautiful female assistant and turn her into a vampire. Meanwhile, a sincere Lawrence Talbot, AKA the Wolfman, arrives seeking a cure for his lycanthropy. When Dr. Edelman's first attempt fails, Talbot tries to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff, but instead finds a network of underground caves where Frankensteins Monster is in stasis. Chaos ensues as the three monsters fight for dominance of each other.
